Your previous answer indicates that you may not have recognized the multiplication sign in the problem. Multiplication can be indicated in several different ways. In arithmetic, multiplication is most commonly shown by use of the "times sign": In algebra, multiplication will appear in a variety of guises. Most frequently it will be indicated with parentheses:
or by use of an asterisk:
