Since its inception at Y Combinator in Winter 2016, Superside has been a fully-remote, tech-enabled design company that delivers frictionless design at scale to marketing and creative teams at enterprise companies such as Shopify, Meta, Booking.com, Novartis, Salesforce and more. Since then, the company experienced 300% year-on-year growth, secured $30 million in Series A funding, and maintained a strong focus on expanding its creative talent pool to all corners of the world.

However, a surge in funding combined with growing demand, meant that Superside needed to hire the world’s top designers, projects managers, marketers, and talent professionals at scale. The on-demand nature of Superside's service also meant this talent needed to be willing to work in fully-remote, distributed environment. Maintaining high-volume hiring across several markets was putting a strain on Superside’s internal talent team, and they turned to Amby as a trusted, long-term strategic advisor to help them reach their hiring goals.

The Solution

Superside first partnered with Amby on a project basis to fill a variety of roles on the Talent, Engineering, Marketing and Product teams. However, they soon needed an even more flexible solution that would grow with them.

That’s is why in the beginning of 2021, a team of Amby consultants embedded fully into Superside’s internal talent team to ramp up hiring across their Talent, Marketing, Sales, Product, Legal, and Finance teams.

Superside's dedicated team dove deep into the company’s industry, culture, hiring goals, and growth plans to craft a scalable, quality-driven recruitment process that worked for them. Since data is sewn into the fabric of Superside's culture, we established process that ensured fair and consistent decisions were made every step of the way. In the end, this consisted of a thorough, yet engaging process consisting of initial interviews, data-driven personality tests, and case studies.

The Result

Between April 2021 and April 2022, Amby hired over 55 members to Superside's team. By taking full ownership of Superside’s recruitment process, Amby consultants were able to provide continuous data insights, performance tracking, and more so that Superside could have a clear overview of its talent ROI.By managing and executing all recruitment operations from start to finish, the Superside team could focus on what matters most to them: delivering impactful creative for their customers' campaigns and experiments, and being the best place for ambitious designers to learn and grow their careers.
